Ethiopia in the Classroom

An educational tool to learn about a dynamic country

The map functions in six panels with one side creating a nearly 4′ x 3′ detailed map of Ethiopia. Each panel’s flip side reveals an activity for students to learn about the East African nation.

This project was developed in collaboration with the Fulbright-Hays Ethiopian program in which fourteen American educators travel to Ethiopia to take part in seminars and tours. The educators, in turn, bring their Ethiopian experiences into the classroom and school system. This map aims to aid that latter process and develop a discourse to talk/learn about Ethiopia and Africa in more contemporary and pertinent ways.
